Biology · DNA
Our sampleIn a double-stranded DNA molecule, 20% of the bases are adenine (A). What percentage of the bases are guanine (G)?
Tap an answer to see the explanation.
Show the answerThe answer
The answer is B: 30%.
- A) Wrong. 20% is thymine (T), not guanine. T pairs with A, so there is as much T as A.
- B) Right. A and T make up 20% + 20% = 40%. The other 60% is G and C. G pairs with C, so G = C = 60% ÷ 2 = 30%.
- C) Wrong. 40% is A and T together, not G.
- D) Wrong. 60% is G and C together. Halve it: G alone is 30%.
- E) Wrong. 80% is 100% minus 20%. It forgets that T is also 20%.

Questions
What applicants ask most
Who runs CzechMedPrep? Do you have reviews?
CzechMedPrep is run by Prepalio International B.V., a private limited company registered in the Netherlands at Honingerdijk 85A01, 3063 AK Rotterdam. Its Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number is 42134936, so you can check it in the Dutch business register. We are not part of Masaryk University, Charles University or Palacký University Olomouc, and we are not an agent or an official representative: we do not apply for you. CzechMedPrep is new, so it has no reviews yet. Questions? Email contact@czechmedprep.com.
My exam is soon. Should I wait for your practice?
No. This week, time your school's free sample or mock test. Mark it, and list the topics you missed. Each school page links the faculty's own tests, and our timing sheet shows how to pace a Masaryk test.
I dropped physics. Do I need it?
It depends on the school:
- Masaryk: Three separate tests: Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
- Palacký: A written test in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics: you choose physics or maths.
- Charles: There is no separate Physics test. General Science has some basic physics.
What score do I need?
- Masaryk: The pass mark is 60% for General Medicine and 65% for Dentistry. Passing is the minimum. Higher scores get places first. If a higher scorer says no, the place goes to the next person who passed.
- Charles: Not on the faculty pages we checked.
- Palacký: Not on the faculty pages we checked.
Do I need IELTS or TOEFL?
- Masaryk: The faculty's document asks for no English certificate. The exam and the interview are in English.
- Charles: The faculty's preparation page sets no minimum English score. The exam is all in English.
- Palacký: You need an English certificate: Cambridge FCE or higher, IELTS 6 or higher, or TOEFL 87 or higher, or an accepted equivalent. Did you study in English at school or university? Send proof: the faculty says this makes you exempt.
Should we apply through an agent or directly?
Each school works differently:
- Masaryk: You apply only through the official representatives. The faculty's admission document lists them by country.
- Charles: apply in the university's online application.
- Palacký: apply online, on the faculty's General Medicine page.
We are not an agency, and we are not linked to any.
Can anyone guarantee a place?
No, and nobody can. Each school runs its own exam. At Masaryk: The faculty publishes no number of places. The Dean decides how many students are accepted. Higher scores get places first.
Can a parent pay?
Yes. At checkout, enter the email the student will use. The receipt goes to that email, and the student signs in with it. Need an invoice in a parent's name? Write to contact@czechmedprep.com before you pay.
